Ochre
This painting is the outcome of an Instagram poll. I regularly ask my followers what colours they’d like me to paint with. This time, the votes for ochre were unanimous.
I chose a deep, moody mustard for this painting. It feels much more cosy and atmospheric (as opposed to a yellow that’s fresh and bright). I’ve paired it with the darkest of brown paints, it’s almost black in low lighting. I’ve whipped it with some off-white so it feels slightly softer on the canvas.
